Phantom Blade Zero Sells 4 Million Copies in 72 hours

Phantom Blade Zero becomes one of this year's fastest selling games with over 4 million copies sold in less than a week.

Developer S-GAME has announced that Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours, making it one of the fastest selling games of this year.

Whilst the Chinese market does play a major part in this due to their considerably sizable demographic, the sales are from across all platforms around the world. It isn’t exactly a surprise either since the game topped the Steam charts as soon as it launched, pushing ahead of games like Modern Warfare 4.

On just steam alone, the game has peaked at over 833k concurrent players, making it this year’s biggest single-player release so far. For comparison, Resident Evil Requiem, which also performed exceptionally well on steam, peaked at just over 344k concurrent players.

It has done well critically too, with Phantom Blade Zero currently enjoying a mighty 88 score on Metacritic, with reviews generally praising its stylish, fast-paced combat and memorable boss fights. It has also benefited from legendary actor Donnie Yen’s involvement.

Phantom Blade Zero is now available on PlayStation Store($60/£54.99) and Steam ($60/£49.99)
