The Witcher 3 will be getting the remaster treatment, but with improvements on more than just the visuals alone. Both new and returning players will be able to experience the epic adventure with upgraded visuals, improved traversal and enhanced combat that features new finishers, witcher signs effect, and monster behaviours.
The developers have also mentioned that they’ve revamped the skill tree and will introduce transmogrification. The feature allows players to apply the appearance of one piece of gear to another, retaining the benefits of their current loadout while giving you more control over its look. This really helps when you like the look of a low level armor but don’t want to sacrifice the higher stats of your current one.
The visuals do look stunning with abundant particle effects adding a lot more volume to each scene. I am especially looking forward to the combat upgrades and was probably one of the few that actually enjoyed the original version of it. What will really make or break it in my opinion, are how good the intended improvements are to enemy attack behaviours.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will release on the 29th of September for the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be a free upgrade for those who own The Witcher 3 already, and will include both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. This means that if you only have the base game, you will get the expansions at no extra cost.
