Fans were upset that the upcoming action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker would be launching without a 60 FPS mode on consoles, causing the devs to receive some intense backlash.
However, after seeing an overwhelming support for higher framerates, the developers have now confirmed that the game will include a performance mode targeting 60fps at launch, including a balanced 40fps for those that want the best of both worlds. This was revealed through their official Twitter account, which you can read below:
At a glance, these are the modes supported on launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X:
| Modes/Platforms | PlayStation | Xbox Series X |
| Quality | 30fps | 30fps |
| Balanced | 40fps | 40fps |
| Performance | 60fps | 60fps |
The developers have also confirmed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will also provide visual enhancements whilst the Xbox Series S will be targeting 30fps only.
PC players will also be pleased to know that the requirements are pretty modest for their platform, needing only a GTX 1060/RX 580 at a minimum or a RTX 4070 Ti/ RX 9070 to achieve 4K gameplay at 60fps. For the majority that prefer playing at 1440p, will only need a RTX 4060/RX 7900 XT to achieve 60fps.
The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on the PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on September 3, 2026.
