A new side-scroller Prince of Persia game is not what I was expecting from the Summer Game Fest, but it managed to easily be a highlight of the show. It features a brand new cast of characters who journey to rescue the titular prince.
According to Ubisoft, the game will be a Metroidvania experience, with a variety of environments inspired by Persian mythology. Players will be able to unlock new power and abilities that will allow them to solve puzzles and explore new areas.
Honestly, we have been yearning for a good action side-scroller Metroid game ever since Ori left a huge impression on us. Here’s hoping that it will be able to hit the same level of cinematic quality with mindblowing cinematic moments. It will be available on the PC, Playstation 4|5, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One on the 18th of January, 2024.
