September is set to get even more expensive for a lot of gamers, as the old-school fast-paced shooter Sprawl Zero has gotten a confirmed release date for that month.
SPRAWL Zero is a fast-paced shooter inspired by the Golden Age of early 2000 FPS games like F.E.A.R. and HALO. Players take on the role of FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced super soldier as they survive through a brutal cyberpunk city collapsing under military rule and cult fanaticism.
At launch the game will have various abilities and an arsenal of over 40 weapons, giving players everything they need to crush those who stand in their way. A demo is available on Steam which lets players jump into the first two levels and get a taste of how the Gravity Shield works in-game, giving more movement and combat options to experiment with.
We really liked the demo and found that the physics-driven gameplay really did create a sense of nostalgia for old-school shooters. However, I am not sure if I agree with their claim that it feels like F.E.A.R. as both the enemy AI and level design felt quite different. Then again, we hold F.E.A.R. in very high regard, and found that even games like Trepang2 didn’t capture the essence of F.E.A.R.
SPRAWL Zero will release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 8, 2026, in a month that’s already populated with heavy hitters like Marvel’s Wolverine, The Blood of the Dawnwalker and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
