Lineage II Celebrates Its 22nd Anniversary With a Gold Vinyl Collection

The beautifully melodic score for Lineage 2 will soon make its way onto Vinyl, featuring over 35 tracks. Pre-orders are available now.

The 22nd anniversary celebration continues for Lineage II, and with it comes an exciting new announcement for fans of its music, as a collector’s edition vinyl has been announced, which comes with 2 discs, featuring over 35 tracks pressed on both sides.

Lineage II has easily one of my favorites original scores from a videogame, especially since it had an amazing ensemble of talented composers, featuring Bill Brown (Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six), Jamie Christopherson (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) and Inon Zur (Fallout series).

This is perhaps my favorite track from the game, and sets the expectation for how melodic the original soundtrack is.

They came together to bring an interesting progression between the different areas of Lineage II’s world, giving varying urgency and tempo that complemented both the peaceful and dramatic parts of the game.

The Call of Destiny by Bill Brown, is a good example of the peaceful side, which sets the tone for the rest of the soundtrack. It features progression and leitmotifs that rival even the late James Horner in my opinion, masterfully weaving a theme from soaring strings, mystical woodwind and hypnotising vocals.

NC America will help bring the Vinyl collection to launch, with a double LP that is pressed on Gold Vinyl, fitted inside gatefold packaging. Those interested can pre-order the vinyl here, which will launch in November, later this year. It is also available on Spotify to stream.
