The beautiful looking puzzle adventure Helix: Descent N Ascent, by the Belgian indie game studio Badass Mongoose, has a release date and it is coming out by the end of this month.
In Helix: Descent N Ascent players will work with a unique mix-and-match system that allows them to combine their powers in order to solve various puzzles that meaningfully interact with their surroundings.
The game is focused more on puzzles and exploration rather than violence, with players unlocking new abilities as they make their way through the strangely beautiful world of Helix. It features a mysterious story where two beings who look alike must decide whether to trust each other in order to solve the mystery at the heart of Helix.
What stands out about the game is its striking monochromatic artstyle. According to the developers, it draws inspiration from classic black-and-white indie comics and manga. Best of all, it features original music by Jim Guthrie, who has composed for titles such as Sword and Sworcery, Nobody Saves The World, and my personal favorite, Planet Coaster. (Seriously just check out the track below!)
Helix: Descent N Ascent will be available for Nintendo Switch and PC on the 23rd of July. Those interested can try out the demo, which is currently available on Steam.
