The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Reveals First Gameplay and Release Date

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake showed off its gameplay for the first time in the recent Nintendo Direct.

The latest Nintendo Direct commemorated the 40th anniversary of the beloved series, The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo showcased gameplay from Ocarina of Time Remake for the first time and announced the game’s release date.

The remake brings back iconic locations and improves on the game’s combat and puzzles. Dialogue has been expanded too with cutscenes being fully voiced in the remake. Several gameplay improvements were also shown with Link now being able to jump, swim, sprint and switch between items more seamlessly.

Nintendo also gave more details around a new mechanic: Threads of Time that will track story progress. Players will also be able explore the Hyrule Castle Town with full 3D controls this time around and get to experience continuous day-night cycles.

The additions to the game look really interesting, and it is great to see a dedicated jump button this time around. The visuals look stunning as well with a lot more realistic detail than we were expecting in the textures and models.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake will be available on the 5th of November, 2026.
