ShipShaper Lets You Easily Build Incredible Ships for Games, Mods and Even 3D Printing

ShipShaper lets you push, pull and bend shapes to create stunning ships that can be showcased in-game, exported into original games and mods, or even brought into the real world as 3D-printed models.

The BAFTA-nominated solo developer Tomas Sala, who is known for creating The Falconeer has teamed up with publisher Wired Productions to reveal their upcoming project, ShipShaper.

ShipShaper is an interesting project where, although it’s packaged like a game, its capabilities extend far beyond that. It features an approachable system where anyone can easily push, pull and bend shapes to form them into ships.

With this, players are able to build various seafaring vehicles, including fishing vessels, tall ships, ironclads, submarines, or glorious nautical creations no sensible shipyard would ever approve. Once a ship has been built, players can either test it in water or export it into games like Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles and even take the complete 3D model into their own creative projects, including 3D printing.

Best of all, ShipShaper gives its users a free commercial licence which allows developers, modders, designers, and other creators to use it in both personal and commercial projects without worrying about the legalities.

Those interested can try out the official demo for ShipShaper on Steam. The project itself will launch through Steam’s Early Access programme on 3 September 2026.
