Combolands Mixes Roguelike City Building With Satisfying Combos

Build a city, stack satisfying combos and survive the everchanging terrain in the roguelike city builder, Combolands.

Developers Crux Games have announced that their roguelike city builder will soon be releasing on Steam and have even confirmed the exact release date.

Combolands lets players place buildings, stack combos, and master deep strategy in short bursts to create a thriving interconnected metropolis. The challenge comes from an evolving terrain that changes each run.

It is based on the itch.io hit Tiny Town, which had over a 100k visitors, a prototype that mixed city building with deck builder elements where instead of building a deck of cards, you were building a town.

Crux Games is a two-person South African studio run by Sam Alfred and Skye Scott. Sam is best known as the designer of the BAFTA-nominated Terra Nil, a strategy game about transforming a barren wasteland into a thriving ecosystem. They are getting some extra help from Landfall (Haste, Content Warning, PEAK) with Combolands.

Combolands will release on 24 August 2026 on Steam, where players can also try out the game’s demo.
