Digital Extremes has not only revealed the future of Warframe with the first look at Warframe: Tau’s gameplay, but has also given us a brand new look at their upcoming MMO, Soulframe.
Warframe: Tau
Warframe: Tau is the upcoming free chapter for the game, going beyond the Origin System and into an entirely new Star Chart set within the Tau system. Players will travel to Fornax, a Sentient ring city plagued by black rain and criminal conflict, with further chaos introduced by a dangerous substance known as Bloom.
The chapter is Noir inspired, with Matthew Mercer‘s Brysko, a new sentient warframe jumping into the fight with brass knuckles, explosive playing cards and an Exalted revolver called The Corecraker, complete with inner monologues. Tau will also introduce the game’s first card mini-game, Portau which has been inspired by poker, allowing players to gamble while in the gambling dens.
Warframe: Tau will be available on all existing platforms later this year.
Soulframe
Soulframe on the other hand received a new gameplay video, which showcased the new Warsongs Fable, featuring a corrupted player progression path, a fishing mini-game, the long-anticipated mount system, and new performances from Ben Starr and Jennifer English
Those interested in trying out Soulframe can register their interest on the official website, where lucky participants will be picked for the preludes (testing phase), which they will have unlimited access till the game’s launch.
