Swordcery Is A Roguelite Action RPG From Former God Of War Developers

Swordcery is a roguelite action RPG from former God of War cinematic animators, set in the world of Amorial where players wield powerful swords with unique abilities across each new run.

Swordcery, a hack-and-slash roguelite ARPG created by the cinematic animators behind 2018’s God of War, has just been announced for an Early Access release this August. It is their debut title under their new studio Temple Door Games.

Swordcery takes place in the tumultuous world of Amorial, where players must wield powerful but quirky swords that will aid them in fighting the corruption. Swords are split between different classes and strengths that allow players to perform unique abilities, ranging from throwing weapons to calling in lightning bolts, with some even able to launch tasty ingredients at the enemy. Through each new run, players can expect to discover new swords and upgrades which help bolster their playstyle.

While working on God of War at Sony Santa Monica Studio, Mike Henriet and Don Thurakichprempri bonded over a mutual love of animation and video games.  With Temple Door Games, they strive to create fun and challenging gameplay complete with quirky jokes, satisfyingly juicy melee hits and memorable moments that tug at your heartstrings.

Swordcery is now live on Steam ahead of its Early Access launch on 11 August. A demo has also been made available for anyone who wants to get some practice in before the early access launch.
