Square Enix Cafe & Shop opens permanently in Los Angeles, allowing fans to buy merchandise and themed food and drinks inspired by iconic Square Enix properties such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and NieR:Automata.
It initially had a soft two-week opening period which was successful, prompting Square Enix to offer an even wider selection of themed drinks, entrƩes and desserts. Due to the high demand, reservations are currently required for cafe dining and can be made through the official Cafe & Shop website. They plan to to introduce walk-in dining at a later date.
Guests can visit the adjoining merchandise shop without a reservation however, and browse a wide selection of official Square Enix merchandise, including exclusive items such as the L.A. Chocobo T-Shirt and L.A. Slime T-Shirt featuring commemorative artwork created to celebrate the first-ever permanent Square Enix Cafe & Shop location in the U.S.

That’s not all, as they have collaborated with L.A. based graffiti artist Yoshi to create a mural designed specially for this outlet. They are hoping to make it a striking new landmark in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo Neighbourhood.
Here’s hoping that Square Enix eventually decides to open more of these outside of the U.S., especially in the UK or wider Europe. We personally think the concept would fit incredibly well in cities like London or Manchester, where there is already a strong demand for novelty food, gaming culture and iconic merchandise.
