In a bit of a surprise news, the developers People Can Fly have confirmed that Outriders will be available on the Google Stadia platform. It will include the Stadia exclusive Stream Connect feature, allowing players to view their friends’ gameplay through picture-in-picture overlay in real time.

“We’re excited to team with Google to bring OUTRIDERS to Stadia with Stadia exclusive features and the highest levels of performance, allowing players to get the best experience on all supported devices” said Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios.

I am personally not convinced that Google Stadia is going to last a good while, especially with recent closures and departures of rockstar developers such as Jade Raymond and more. I do wonder if the same effort that they will be putting on Stadia can be used to make the game better on the more popular platforms instead.

Still, people who only play on Stadia will be able to jump into the world of Outriders when it launches on the 1st of April, when it will also launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Those interested will be able to download a demo beginning February 25th.
