The Game Awards was definitely a lot of fun to watch, and impressive considering the logistics of preparing something like this in a pandemic. The games revealed definitely looked interesting, but sadly all except one really drew our interest.
That game being non other than The Callisto Protocol, which is being made by the creator of Dead Space, Glen Schofield as well as other ex-Dead Space devs. Amongst multiplayer coop shooters and MMO RPGs, this single-player only title was a breath of fresh air.
From the trailer, it looks to feature elements of body horror, as well as deep space isolation that was a hallmark of the Dead Space series. Not much is known about the gameplay, but Schofield’s tease of the game does make us hopeful! However, don’t expect it to release anytime soon as it’s planned for 2022, most likely on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
