Following suit with Xbox’s Elite line, Sony has unveiled their own advanced controllers that will bring various hardcore features to the Dualsense, such as back paddles and adjustable joysticks.
You can read the full details on the blog itself, but in hindsight, it will feature:
- Quick Access Profile Settings Menu
Simply press the Fn button and Options button while in-game to open the customization menu, where you can quickly change your settings.
- Remappable buttons
Customize the control layout of your favourite games so the commands you need are always exactly where you want them to be. Save your button configurations to your player profile and switch between them without leaving your game.
- Adjustable triggers, stick sensitivity & vibration intensity
Configure your stick sensitivity, stick dead zones, and trigger dead zones for finely tuned inputs, and even set your vibration intensity for a completely customized play experience.
- Quick-swap control profiles
Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.

In the above picture, you can also see what the bundle comes with. The kit is just as expensive as it is impressive too, launching at around $200 or £210 in the UK, which is a lot more than the Elite Controller. It does feel like there’s a middle ground somewhere that manufacturers aren’t exploiting, maybe one that only has paddles but at a much more flexible price point.
Whilst preorders for this will start next week, the controller itself will be available on the 26th of January, next year.
