Martha is Dead, a game that’s been in the news recently for being censored by Sony, will be released today. We have played this game in anticipation of our review that should be available soon(there is a lot to unpack with this game) and can already recommend it if you’re on the fence.
However, we really can’t recommend enough caution for those who are squeamish, as the game can get extremely dark with its portrayal of gore and violence. It really does give perspective to Sony’s censoring decision.
The story kicks into gear when Martha’s body washes up ashore, pitting her twin sister in a horrific conspiracy in the middle of the great war. It combines real-world locations, working in links to historical events, superstition, folklore, and deep psychological distress.
It is being developed by LKA, who were behind The Town of Light which was acclaimed for its setting and themes. It will be available for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5 on the 24th of February, 2022.
