In the brand new diary, creator Charles Cecil sheds a light on the themes of Beyond A Steel Sky and the consideration that was given to their inclusion in the game when it was being developed.

It is an interesting watch, and Cecil dives deep into some of the aspects they had considered, including what an AI would do to create the perfect city, as well as taking inspiration from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and how it helped develop elements of the game.

Beyond A Steel Sky is an essential game for any adventure fan, one that asks all the right questions about its utopian setting. A strong cast of characters and genre-pushing mechanics make it one of the best adventure games we have played.
