The Uncharted series is without a doubt the best action games ever made, where they not only give you setpieces never before attempted in a game but give you a good amount of control through them. In my opinion, no other game has come close to this level of interactive vs cinematic balance.
So, it makes sense that we are getting a film based on it, but more interestingly, it seems to be taking inspiration from all 4 Uncharted games, including scenes based on set pieces from the game. The most notable of which is the plane scene from Uncharted 3, where Nate has to climb into the plane by jumping across the dangling cargo.
Of course, it’s impossible to fully match the aesthetics of the games, but the movie does seem to be trying fun things. Not to mention, it boasts an impressive cast, with names such as Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas lending their talent.
The film will be released in theatres on the 14th of February, 2022 and will explore the origin of Drake and Nate’s partnership as they travel across the globe with Chloe Frazer on a dangerous treasure hunt.
