The highly anticipated Battlefield 2042 will be getting an open beta, allowing anyone that meets the platform requirements to try out the game in a pre-release state with a diverse selection of Specialists, cutting-edge weaponry, and vehicles.

The open beta will run from the 8th of October to the 10th and will give players access to the conquest mode on a brand new map called Orbital. Players will also be able to choose between 4 different specialists.

Those that have already pre-ordered 2042 will be able to jump in earlier on the 7th, with the preload starting on the 5th. EA calls it an early chance to enter the open beta, but lets be honest, if it is limited behind a paywall, it’s a closed period and doesn’t really count as an “open” beta until its actually open for everyone.

Battlefield 2042 is available now for pre-order and is set to launch on retail and digital storefronts on November 19 for $59.99 on Xbox One PlayStation 4, and PC, and $69.99 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
