The main casting for The Last of Us has just been revealed, finally giving us faces to TV’s version of Joel and Ellie. Whilst it was originally speculated that Marshera Ali will be given the role of Joel, it was a rumor that was quickly debunked.
Joel will be played by the Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal, whilst Bella Ramsey will be lending her talents to the role of Ellie. One thing a lot of fans might notice, is that both were part of another iconic HBO show, Game of Thrones.
From a personal point of view, it is exciting to see Pedro taking on such a weighty role, who has already shown his command of the gruff acting charm via The Mandalorian. Originally, I was hoping they’d pick Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for Joel, but honestly, you can put Pedro in any role, and I will be there first as the audience.
