Here is an interesting surprise for the upcoming RTS Stronghold: Warlords. Firefly studios have just announced that the game will have a Co-Op mode available, allowing players to control a shared base in unison.

Whilst RTS games are best known for having some of the most fun competitive modes, not many seem to excel at giving co-op functionality. With Warlords co-op mode, players get to share control of a single castle when playing together online, the game’s co-op mode is different from regular team-based multiplayer.

In addition to being able to party up and build separate castles in team deathmatch, Stronghold: Warlords will also allow players to share control over a large shared army, peasant population, castle defences and network of warlords under their command.

Stronghold: Warlords is Firefly’s first game to recreate the castle economies of the Far East, allowing you to command Mongol hordes, imperial warriors and samurai clansmen as you lay siege to Japanese castles and fortified Chinese cities. Stronghold: Warlords will be available for the PC on the 9th of March via Steam.
