Supermassive Games have finally lifted the lid on their next chapter in The Dark Pictures Anthology, this time, bringing us to Iraq. Whilst we had already gotten a teaser trailer, more details have been released.
House of Ashes takes place in 2003, and follows CIA field operative Rachel King as she joins an elite military unit on a raid of a suspected underground chemical weapons facility. Upon arrival, they are ambushed by the local patrol led by Sergeant Salim.
During the battle, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, pitching both sides into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. Their intrusion sends ripples through the abandoned ruins, awakening something evil, with a nest of ancient and unearthly creatures has a new prey to hunt.
Once foes, now drawn together, will Rachel and Salim put together their differences to survive, or be engulfed by the evil residing there. House of Ashes will be available sometimes next year for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
