It is always great to see more beat’em up games these days, especially as the modern technology allows for the rendering of unique artstyles. Such seems to be the case with 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, that appears to have expressive animations mixed with classic beat’em up progression.
The game follows Wei Cheng, who embarks on a journey of revenge after a pirate raid results in the death of his friends and family. With both solo and co-op functionality, the game is a revitalisation of the classic genre, featuring unique moves and levels that can be played both alone or with friends.
The developers have focused on bringing action-packed battles, user friendly controls and incredible atmosphere of great kung-fu movies of 70s. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin it a perfect choice for every true fan of hardcore brawlers.
It is now available on the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It has been developed by Buka Entertainment and Sobaka Studio, who had previously created Redeemer. Those interested can also download a demo for the game on Steam.
