After weeks of tease and speculation, EA has officially confirmed a remaster for 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It is said to bring along some visual and gameplay enhancements. Still, it doesn’t seem to be a day and night difference from the original.
The video below, courtesy of Crowned shows a comparison between the new and old version. The reflections do seem a bit more high-res when compared with the original, but certain effects in motion still look about the same.
In fact, there are some parts in the video where I felt the original looked a bit better, but that may be due to the different lighting and youtube’s compression. Luckily, autolog and other social features will be coming back, allowing you to seamlessly compete with your friends across different game modes.
I am personally excited to replay this game, as the original is probably the last Need for Speed game that I really enjoyed, as it featured unique weapons and frantic chases with some brilliant original music.

The remastered edition will be available for the PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on the 6th of November. A Nintendo Switch release is also planned for a bit later on the 13th of the same month.
